About This

  • THE UPGRADE THAT OUTPERFORMS A NEW GRINDEROwners — describe the difference as greater than changing grinder speed or burr type. The Z-2118 is cut with 2118 ultra-dense laser flat-bottom holes — versus the few hundred punched holes in a standard basket — for high, even flow and a measurably higher extraction yield. If your grinder is already dialed in and you are looking for the next real step up, this is the part to change.
  • FLAT-HOLE LASER GEOMETRY = EVEN SATURATION, LESS CHANNELING — Clean flat-bottom laser holes (not rough-punched) pass water uniformly across the whole bed: edge-to-edge saturation, minimal channeling, and a higher, more repeatable extraction yield you can read on a refractometer. Starting point: 18g in → about 40g out in 25–30s, then dial to taste.
  • BUILT FOR DIALED-IN SETUPS — FINE GRIND + A QUALITY GRINDER — This is a high-flow basket for advanced workflows: it rewards a fine, even grind from a capable burr grinder. Too coarse, or an inconsistent grinder, will run fast and sour — go finer to bring the shot into range. Give it 3–4 shots to dial in; once set, it repeats reliably.
  • PRECISION-FINISHED, CLEAN FROM SHOT ONE — Each basket is deburred and chamfered for a clean rim and a true seat, so pucks release intact and knock out clean. To get the most even pour from this high-flow pattern, prep with a WDT distribution tool and add a puck screen — together they keep extractions centered and channel-free from the very first shot.
  • PRO-GRADE 58mm FIT — Sized for a true 58mm portafilter (60mm top, 70mm flanged rim) with a ridgeless body that seats flush and pulls clean from bottomless/naked portafilters. Fits La Marzocco, E61 group heads, Slayer, Decent, Profitec, ECM and other commercial-standard 58mm machines. Stainless steel, laser-etched. (58mm only — please measure.)
